Thanks, Talon. By browsing tons of the Network threads, I was able to answer a fair number of my questions. I guess I have a few questions remaining regarding professors and testing, but I've made some good progress in the past half hour or so. You guys have a pretty impressive campus, from my observations around July '04; the engineering/science facilites looked great, and the Southern California location appealed my innate sense of belonging; interestingly, Pomona even bears an uncanny resemblance to my home area, the Central Valley. I'm pretty enthustiac about attending CPP, mainly because I'll finally get to use math for practical applications. Anyway, this post is long enough as is; thanks once again, guys, for answering the onslaught of questions by other entering students such as myself.
Edit- Yeah, iKwak, I've spent a lot of time (maybe too much time) thinking about majors. Like lots of people, I guess I'm polarized to the math/science way of thinking, seeing as I'm somewhat mediocre at everything else. Pretty much, engineering offers the greatest outlet by which I can use math for practical purposes; that, and there's generally a decent demand for engineers in the workforce. Hopefully, Pomona will make good on the "Polytechnic" moniker and give me a more practical-applications-oriented education; do you notice the "polytechnic difference" at CPP as opposed to other universities? Once again, I'm getting ahead of myself, but thanks a million for the responses thus far; I really do appreciate the support.
