Default yes but

it's one thing to try to get qualified ppl jobs particularly those of color. that's the american way. it's another to discriminate AGAINST one group just because of the color of their skin. xiaoxue makes a valid point. while relatively few asian students apply to SLO many do to pomona, and some don't get in so the reports go in order for the school to become more "diverse." then these qualified students must go to a weak CSU like san bernardino or northridge even though their admit packets very well were at UC levels. what would an asian student do who wanted to study engineering or architecture at cal poly? go study nursing at dominguez hills? is that fair?

I can tell you that Ty Willingham, the head coach of U of W football, is a black man, so obviously it's pretty simple to get to that position if you just work hard. But what about the fact that there are only 4 black head coaches in all of 1-A football? That's a bad thing and it must be addressed using AA. Using individual stories of a few blacks getting into fortune 500 companies mean nothing to me. Please understand that AA is not fair and is definitely racist, but it's for the betterment of society.
