Hey guys

I am coming to CalPoly, San Luis Obispo next spring (2006). I live in Melbourne Australia!! I will be studying Business Accounting and Marketing. Can anyone tell me what i will be expecting when i arrive?

I'm not attending Ponoma, I'll be attending SLO. Are the Cerra Vista appartments at Ponoma! oops, sorry, i really have no idea.

Which is the best dorm for party life, i want to really enjoy my ONE SEMESTER over there! Its not long so please fill me in!

Hey Aussie Girl. Glad to hear you'll be at slo this spring. It's a great little town with a really nice downtown area. Will you be 21 by spring? If so, the bar scene is one of the better ones I've encountered. Sorry to say the cerro vista apartments aren't really known for partying. Most of the people I've known that live there don't really party, but I guess that's kind of a small sample size. They are really nice rooms, though. They were just built about 2 years ago. Oh, and business majors don't have classes on fridays, so you definitely have that to look forward to!

What is the best dorm to live in? I've heard that the rooms are not that great??

Most dorms either house freshmen or non-partiers. Upper-classmen usually live off-campus. Is it required that you stay in a dorm?

So you recommend i stay away from the dorms?

Yeah, most students live off-campus. There are sections of town and entire apartment complexes entirely made up of students, though. Check out the cal poly housing website and look under off-campus housing. You'll find a lot of options there.

Some are right next to campus and some are a little farther away. The most popular ones are Mustang Village and Cedar Creek Apartments. Those are definitely party apartments right next to campus.

The talent? haha. SLO is known to have many good-looking students, and I would concurr. The campus itself is beautiful in the fall, but i guess you're looking more at the student population.

wow i haven't been to this website for a LONGG time. i'm having fun in SLO, i love it here. but struggling with one of my classes right now...anyways

aussiegirl, i'm a freshman here in SLO. i'm currently staying in the Sierra Madre dorms. i love my dorm room, it's a little bit far away from central campus, but it's okay, walking is always good. i think most dorms are for freshmen, like giant said, so i don't know if u could get into them. there are also north mountain halls, check those out too, i think some of them are for non-freshmen. i don't know about cerro vista, they're reallly nice though, i just checked them out on halloween..haha. a lot of my friends live off campus, stenner glen, mustang village, valencia, cedars creek (everything giants had mentioned). they're pretty close to campus, so u should take a look at those apartments/condos. anyways, u're gonna love SLO, i gotta go study now, ttyl!
