A Glimpse of Culturas: Opening Ceremonies (2004 Xicano Heritage Festivities Month (Pics + Vids)

11:30 am - 1 pm
University Plaza, building 26

Celebrate the beauty and diversity of Latino cultures by helping to kick off the month. Free food (Mexico, El Salvador, Cuba, Peru), cultural performers (Salsa band, Ballet Folklorico) and music.

Why is it Xicano rather than Chicano?

Bang! I knew I had to attend something, that's sad. I guess they called Xicano from Mexicano. There was some discrepancies or whatever that Mexican people that they parents did not taught'em english, I cant remember, but the point is that some people say chicano instead of meXICANO, that's why some people call Mexicali "Chicali".

Bada Bing! I see. BTW, are you a member or involved with the Cal Poly M.A.S.A. club or other Latino/Hispanic clubs on campus?

I was gonna get involved with HU (Hermanos Unidos), but I decided not to, I had to much stuff to do with school, since Im a ChE, you can imagine it.
