Default Blown Out by Dominguez Hills

Welcome to the CCAA.

I worred that cupcake games against NAIA bottom feeders would do little to prepare this team for conference play, and the fear was well founded.

The once lowly Toros, a program we owned for years, had their way almost all night winning by a whopping 21 points.

Next up CSULA. Pray for a split.

well the Broncos got the split in Cal state LA in OT 65-64. Well the toros are not lonley anymore they also put a nice beating on cal state san bernardino by 20. I think we all agree there the team to beat.
I hate to say this but its still early to judge this team. I think there going to have to make a round within the CCAA and play the vegas tourney to see how good they are. By looking at the team games were 2nd or 3rd place team in the conference.
I wish we can play Cal State LA every game because we have not lost to LA in the past 18 games. that is almost a decade of beating them..

looks like austin swift stepped up sat nite with a big game. of course i got that from the golden eagle web site so nicely managed by you know who.

meanwhile, over on our worst in the conference if not the world site pokey joe from kokomo still has nothing about basketball but leads with stories about volleyball, which ended a week ago.

look for a box score say around wednesday.

I was just getting worried that Mr. Jay has left us. I haven't heard from you in a while. Maybe it is just that the buzz around bronco basketball is gone. It is really hard to keep up with the team when our school doesn't.

It is Monday morning and there is STILL NO BOX UP! What will it take to get Paul Helms back although I hear Hervey Malone has left to join him over in the Golden Eagle Nest. Whatever hope we had in gettin Paul back has left the building with a former bronco great joining him. I don't blame Hervey for leaving by the way CPP runs their athletics dept!

PS. Is the CPP SID still stuffing himself with thanksgiving leftovers?

Default Has CPP Stopped Playing Basketball?

Here we are, more than a month into the roundball season.

So I stop by my alma mater Friday and pick up a Poly Post to see what's new with Bronco basketball. I turn to the sports page and the top article is about volleyball even though the team hasn't played a match in weeks.

Then there's a big piece on the...who?...Anaheim Ducks looking to make the playoffs. Is this an Orange County paper? We don't even do that in the Daily Titan.

Finally another big story on something called Mixed Martial Arts. Huh?

So the only active winter sport does not get ONE WORD in the campus paper?

But hasn't the conference race begun, I wonder. So today I flip on the computer and go to the Bronco web page, once manned so beautifully by Paul Helms. And what is there? Lots of corporate logo junk taking up lots of space and once again three or four stories, very old, about volleyball!

NOTHING ABOUT EITHER CONFERENCE GAME. NO STATS, NO NOTHING.

Hall, you and the x-man agree. Fire the dud doing nothing with our teams and bring Paul back!

i think hervey just posted the cal state los angeles game onto our web site from the eagles nest.

put him on the payroll.

hey, another x-man and hall love-in. how long will this one last?

x-man you are right. bronco basketball has gotten almost ZERO respect from both its own athletic department and the poly post. welcome to the public relations rag for the anaheim ducks. of course the sleepy writers from the post say nothing because the sleepier SID gives them nothing. he still is working, isn't he? instead of a conference season outlook with two big rivalry games we get...ducks hockey at the post, and bronco volleyball, long over, on our web site. that's outstanding.

you almost wonder if anybody even knows we still have a team anymore.

when lakdod graduates maybe we should just turn off the lights for lack of interest. i remember when all our roundball games were webcast and many even were on cable television. now we get nothing anywhere.

got paul helms?

i saw on the cal poly pomona website about live stats.. and I clicked on it.. and it led me to the toros athletic website. Do we (cal poly's sports information dept) count on others to post stats and results... if so. i think i can do that job as well.

anyway.. at least both our bball teams are playing hard even though they don't get paid..

Home games we have live stats from our gym. away games we use the away teams stats. Still I would love to have box score to check out the stats for games instead of searching for it.

3-1 start for the men is a good start lost to Dominguez who looks like the best team in conference. Dominguez look like a good team this year and will be tough to beat. I will like to see how they progress. Cal state La gave SB and us good games both them went to OT. They should be solid this year. I guess SB is not playing together again because they are having one of their worst starts in a while. Of course they will be tough as always. UCSD well coached and should be interesting to see the talent on that team. Humboldt lost a lot of talent but near the end of season i would not want to play them. Monterey and Sf state both tied for first in conference but they play the two worst team in Chico and stanislaus can judge them on those game but did beat seattle pacific which beat SB. So they should be a tough team. Sonoma will be tough up there but a win down here.

I see the Broncos finishing second in conference and making tournmant this early in the season, but all could change as we progress to the season.

Yes, I am graduating this year, but there a chance I might be back next year. Just looking at the talent on the team next year might be a tough season for the broncos.

yeah, live stats for the friday game. did our athletic department forget we had a saturday game too?

i nominate lakdod for sports information director. he obviously knows more about the conference than anyone allegedly working in the athletic department.

got paul helms?

got hervey malone?

got anybody?

x-man, when are you finishing that MBA?
