![]() | it was recently announced that the golden eagle game with san bernardino will be nationally telecast saturday on the college sports network. what will that do for two of our biggest rivals? i'll bet paul helms had a hand in this one along with former bronco athletic director dan bridges, who also left here for there. during their time here we had several games broadcast from kellogg gym (one still on the university web site) and NONE since their departure. and guess what? very popular bronco fave hervey malone is over there now too running development. while the x-man perhaps accurately pounced on him for having a down senior year he nevertheless was part of the bronco dynasty during his four years of wearing the green and gold and was part of two regional title teams. you almost get the impression that this migration has lifted the eagle program ahead of ours in many ways. and, as x-man says, we don't even get box scores anymore. no wonder he wrote a check for fullerton athletics and dissed us. see you guys at the eagle game. and bring your videocams. that's the closest we will ever get to tv or cable again, it seems. and go thank paul for his great service. he'll be sitting at the scorers tables to be sure, probably doing his great webcasts for the other guys. |

![]() | here i was, having my usual burger and fries with some buds at my sports bar hangout, just catching the laker game on one of the big screens. and then one of the other screens begins to show...CCAA basketball? on CBS no less? are you freakin' kidding me??????? hey, j-man i need to stay on top of this board. then i wouldn't have been so freakin' shocked!!!!! pretty good game, both teams played well, and pretty good reporting. that shoulda been one of those bronco-coyote rivalry wars instead. but i've totally given up expecting anything at cal poly anymore, other than coach k's guys scrapping and battling all the time. hi to all my old buds, and glad to make peace with the hall man. hey, i might even come back for that pack the gym nite, just for old times.... xx |

![]() | i watched part of the game from home, x-man, and totally agree. i only wish that were one of those bronco classics with the yotes when we would draw crowds up to 2,500 over there. it was a nice clean effort but vast acreage of empty seats did not show well on national television. when you've beaten the same team 22 straight times it hardly makes for much television drama. yeah, come on back for pack the gym. maybe someday we will meet you, hall, pl28, bronco, and all the other loyalists. lakdod, you delivered once more. you predicted a bronco win over the toros. now we have mr. clean and lakdod the greek...though i'm dating myself with that one. |
