Your Input Needed by the Information Technology Governance Executive Committee (Email)

Dear Cal Poly Pomona Student,

Over the past decade, Cal Poly Pomona has faced an ever-increasing reliance on technology to meet its academic mission. Adopting a strategic approach to information technology planning, budgeting, and implementation is essential if we are to achieve our objectives in the 21st century. I am asking for your help in providing input into that process by completing a very short web-based survey available at http://www.zoomerang.com/survey.zgi?p=WEB2HCF W8N82

We are asking all faculty, staff and students to complete the survey. We are not requesting any personal information but would like to have you list your department or major, which can help us with analysis of specific IT needs.

The information from the survey will be provided to the IT Governance Executive Committee to help inform their work in providing strategic direction and oversight for information technology efforts across the campus. The members will review and approve IT projects that require significant resources or have substantial impact on the campus IT structure.

The IT Governance Executive Committee is chaired by President Michael Ortiz. I serve as the Vice Chair and the rest of the representation is as follows:

• Faculty members at large (4): Dr. Samir Anz, Chemistry; Dr. Laurie Shrage, Philosophy; Dr. Gwen Urey, Urban & Regional Planning; Dr. Fred Roth, Horticulture, Plant and Soil Sciences
• Representative of each division (VP or AVP): Dr. Tomas Morales, Mr. Gary Frederickson, Ms. Patricia Farris, Mr. Ron Simons
• Deans (2): Dr. Edward Hohmann, Engineering; Dr. Lynn Turner, Business
• Library representative (1): Mr. Harold Schleifer
• Staff (1): Ms. Lisa Rotunni, Engineering
• Foundation (1): Mr. Paul Storey
• ASI-appointed student representative (1): Mr. Joshua Roche

I know that each of you has many demands on your time. We have tried to make the survey process as easy as possible. We estimate it should not take more than 10 minutes to complete. The IT Governance Executive Committee will begin its work this Friday, so I would greatly appreciate it if you would complete the survey by Thursday.
