![]() | had another commitment tonight and could not make the big showdown. but it's a home game, right? check. biggest game of the year, yes? check. pack the gym night to boot? ditto. so i click on listen live. NOTHING. NADA. ZILCH. okay, then there's live stats, yes? well, not quite. the site (or its operator) broke down at the start of the second half. so we're still stuck on a 33-27 score, still waiting for an update. where are you lakdod? did your prediction hold up? |

![]() | saved by the coyote play by play announcer! another example that you can usually count on the other team's program if not your own. sounds like larry was larger than life again...20 and 16, not bad for a night's work. and while larry was polishing the glass swift was mr. clutch when it mattered. free throw shooting was outstanding while distance shooting sucked. lakdod, your eyewitness report please....... |

![]() | Okay here is a report. a little late because i was still at the gym at 1015. A typical pomona san bernardino game with the Broncos winning in OT with a 73-71. You can add this game to the instant classic list of games between the two. First half was a little slow, but no team had a lead larger than 8. In the second half Broncos open up a lead of 6 I think before the fire alarm in Kellogg went off. Yes the fire alarm went off went off in the gym. maybe because of how heated the game was between the two. the delay was for about 20 min. fans got a little restless and three frisbee on the court. Somehow the refs decided to give the fans a technical foul for frisbee being on the court during a break. Kind of funny tried to get a tech for years by arguing with the refs but we get one for a frisbee on the court during a break because of the fire alarm. with the resume of play after bascially a second halftime the Coyotes took care of the game. They open up a lead of 4 with about 4 min. Coyotes had a 2 point lead with a min left. Broncos had the ball but walter thompson travel and gives ball back to the coyotes with 42sec. stupid foul by the broncos with 13 sec left give the coyotes a one and one. coyotes miss the first Ft giving a broncos a chance to win the game or force OT. swift take a 15 footer with four seconds left and drain the shot. Coyotes could not get a shot off which send the game to OT. In ot the broncos and coyotes go back and forth and the broncos was able to take a 3 point lead in the last min. a 3 point play with 32 seconds tie the game. with 32 seconds left guess who came up with the big shot. austin swift hit about a 12 footer from the left side to put the broncos up by 2 with 5 sec left. Coyotes in the final five seconds did not a get a shot off and broncos pull off a big victory. Like i predicted I thought Swift came up big in the game scoring 17 points and 5 rebounds. he came up big forcing OT and hitting the game winner. LG what i got to say 20-16 amazing game. he might be the leading candidate for ccaa player of the year. I wonder if he is close to the broncos all time leading rebounder. team played this game like a playoff game. alot of scrambling for lose balls. the one stat that killed us was the turnovers with 20. a little to many. big win and need to take momentum to UCSD on friday. side note i have not decided if this has been the best game of the rivlary i have seen. I got to admit it might of been the weirdest game i have seen. i have no voice and have 1 day to recover it before maybe going to UCSD. |

![]() | wow, what a game. at times we were careless with the ball but did pull it through at the end. LG is the man, and Austin bailed us twice. In regulation, coming out of a time-out Broncos were taking too much time dribbling around but then ball finally ended up at Swift's hands. Austin took a leaner and all net! Give credit to CSUSB for tough D but the Broncos came up with a huge win. |

![]() | what pops out as well is the huge disparity between free throw shooting, probably the best of the year for our guys, and three point attempts, probably the worst. gave me a chance to see the awesome coyote web site...it looks like a DI program as does their gym. as you say another one of those border war classics that have become so commonplace. i thought swift was the guy who was going to best complement larry. summers and thompson have potential and will come along but austin is the most polished. toby had some boards early on beyond his usual but old griz had the shooter's touch tonight when it mattered. did the crowd finally awaken from its season long slumber and get rowdy? the yote announcer did not comment on that as i recall. fire alarm...LOL. kellogg gym is such a relic you wonder how long the old bleachers will last before they collapse like the old football stadium has. where is hall? eagles were idle weren't they? |

![]() | wow, what a huge dropoff in attendance, box is finally posted...this is the smallest pack the gym night in the history of that event if memory serves, a paltry 920, even though both teams are in the thick of conference races and contending. that's barely more than HALF of our all time high of just under 1,800 even though the band, the food and other goodies were outstanding. another sign that while the coaches and teams are doing their job others aren't. there are probably quite a few others like the x-man who have given up on our broncos. where's hervey? |
