Mt. SAC is having an event on Wednesday from 10:50am to 12:30pm. The doors close at 11:00, so if you're going, make sure you get there early. The event has a panel of 3 speakers including Michael Shermer. From what I understand, it looks like it's mostly going to consist of the speakers simply answering questions. The flyer I saw for the event in the Student Union had the following questions on it:

* If Einstein, Darwin, and Dawkins were atheists, then why did they believe nature has religious overtones?
* How can we believe in the divine when rational explanations seem sufficient?
* Can traditional religions embrace scientific claims?

I'm sure it will prove interesting. I would recommend going if you can make it. Just in case you don't know where Mt. SAC is, take Temple west, just past Cal Poly. It's on the other side of the hill on the right.
